The Voice4Nations team celebrates National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month in blue shirts to raise awareness for bullying prevention.
ATLANTA & BUFORD, GA (Issued October 2013) -- Voice4Nations, the non-profit outreach of virtual phone service company, VoiceNation, presented a dramatic show of support for bullying prevention by wearing blue shirts to kick start National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
Bullying has grown to epidemic proportions. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the fear of being bullied keeps 160,000 students in the U.S. out of school on any given day. Incredibly, the U.S. Department of Education reports that one in four children who bully will have a criminal record by the time they reach age 30.
Jay Reeder, Founder of Voice4Nations, said, “An overriding theme of our outreach initiatives is that one person can make a difference. No, one individual cannot fix all the world’s problems, but if each of us commits ourselves to changing something in our own little corner of the world, it adds up – and that single effort can make the world a better place. It’s all about perspective.” The Voice4Nations team wore blue shirts as a sign of solidarity, to heighten awareness about the bullying epidemic, and stand up against the toll it takes on kids and teens. The 2008-2009 School Crime Supplement (National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau of Justice Statistics) indicates that 28% of students in grades 6-12 experienced bullying nationwide. Voice4Nations encourages like-minded individuals, schools, communities, and business organizations to support the cause and learn what can be done to help.
This year, the Voice4Nations’ creative team enhanced www.Voice4Nations.org with an emotional facelift and innovative approach to the organizations three main initiatives: bullying prevention, the global water crisis, and eradication of homelessness. Reeder says, “The site is a great resource to inform, help, and connect folks who are either victims or advocates of these influential causes.”
A new generation of Voice4Nations.org has been launched to address the organization's three key initiatives: bullying prevention, the global water crisis, and homelessness.
